I make my living by finding ways to make ‘the numbers’ easier to consume. Most of the time that work involves getting the numbers into some sort of a visual representation. Histograms, control charts, and scatter graphs are some of the ways to accomplish this goal, and I have recently become a fan of the “infographic”.
Infographics interest me since they run counter to many current communication conventions. Most of the ones that catch my eye are larger than the standard PowerPoint slide I work on each day (10″x7.5″). And while they are graphically intensive, they also tend to contain a great deal of very small text.
I like this one. (Maybe it’s because my kids have been swimming competitively for the past 20 or so years, who knows.) In any case, I hope you enjoy it!
